Abstract
College English teaching reform aims at fostering the students' ability to express in English, especially listening and speaking, which brings about computer-based college English teaching model. On the basis of the characteristics and elements of the new teaching model, the paper discusses about teacher's role in computer-based college English teaching, proposing that teachers should pay much attention to every aspect of the teaching process and take the role as a designer, provider, organizer, helper, partner, researcher and educator.
