Abstract
Proposed items to improve some of the problems suggested by current radiation protection regulations are outlined. In summary it is suggested that radiation protection laws, codes or regulations be: (1) defensible to the public so that the public is assured compliance will provide safety, (2) established on basic criteria or primary standards, (3) compatible with actual health and safety programs, and (4) consistent within the atomic energy industry.
