Abstract
In this introduction I describe the objectives of teacher leadership and document the proliferation of teacher leadership initiatives and literature. I take an analytic look at the literature and examine its deficiencies. Finally, I present an overview of this special issue of the Journal, describing the authors and the contributions of their articles to the literature.
