SPSS-Based Analysis of Factors Affecting Road Traffic Safety

Hongyan Li, Sixu Liu

Open publisher page 2 citations

Abstract

The survey shows that a considerable proportion of road traffic accidents are caused by road parameter-related problems. Now, improving road traffic safety and reducing the rate of road traffic accidents has become quite an urgent problem. This paper probes into factors affecting road traffic safety from the perspective of road parameters, which are divided into two categories based on real road data, namely the main and the secondary ones. In addition, the author also analyzes the relevance between road parameters and the level of traffic safety by using statistical software SPSS. This research provides the basis and technical support for road safety design and also makes suggestions for the improving of road accident-prone sections.
