Abstract

On 1 August 2004 additions were made to the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) Code of professional conduct and it was renamed the Code of professional conduct: standards for conduct, performance and ethics. The NMC intends to undertake a fundamental review of the Code which will involve extensive consultation with stakeholders and will not be completed till 2005.
