Abstract
There is interaction between urban spatial layout and traffic demands. On one hand, urban spatial layout and land utilization is the source of traffic demands. The scale of traffic demands depends on location, population and post of urban space and land utilization. On the other hand, traffic demand has indirect effect on urban space and land utilization, for example, the increase of traffic demand requests improving and constructing the infrastructures of transportation systems, which makes transportation accessibility of land utilization increase and promotes the improvement of land utilization value. And it makes the basic properties of land change. The paper takes Shanghai as an example, and establishes the integration model of urban spatial layout and traffic demand in Shanghai which includes two modules, land model and traffic demand model.
