The Study on Sub-Contract Management in EPC Engineering

The EPC mode is one kind of total engineering management mode. In EPC engineering, the contractor commitments the project design, equipment procurement and construction, etc, which does not mean that general contractor must complete personally the entire construction project. The general contractor of EPC engineering can subcontract a part of the works to some subcontractors. So it is very important for the general contractor to tighten up the management of subcontractors through rules on contract. In the paper, some existing problems in signing stage and performance stage are analyzed. To address the problems, some solutions are put forward, including paying attention to the relevant qualification of the subcontractors audit, setting up warning systems of sub-contract, conducting risk assessment of sub-contract variations, etc.
