Abstract

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, in its 1989 publication, Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics, outlines K - 12 mathematics curricular, instructional, and evaluation programs for the 90's. Some of the implications for university mathematics teaching which may arise from the adoption of these recommendations are identified and discussed in this paper.
