Abstract

Sixty-three surgically and pathologically confirmed cases of salivary gland masses were assessed by ultrasonography and sialography. The advantages and disadvantages of these two diagnostic methods were analyzed and compared and their combined diagnostic value assessed. The accuracy rate of ultrasonography and sialography for diagnosis was 79% and 84%, respectively, but was increased to 94% when the two methods were used together.
