Abstract
An improved m-valued carry look-ahead adder has been described by Manzoul et al. It is based on Ling's type of binary adder. Ling's adder is faster and less expensive than the conventional carry look-ahead binary adder. In this paper, the concept of Ling's approach is explained with a map-method first. Then a few improved m-valued carry look-ahead adders are proposed.
