Abstract

The document provides the technical bases for removal of 24 high-level waste storage tanks at the Hanford Site from the Flammable Gas Watch List and for resolution of the Flammable Gas Safety Issue. Major items covered in the report are: a review of all data collected and analyzed for the 24 tanks; an overview of the research done on the generation, retention, and release of stored gases, and a summary of controls used for the tanks. This document does not change the Authorization Basis.
