Vocational Rehabilitation and Mental Health

The editor is an Australian academic with interests in mental health and employment from the perspective of occupational therapy. The other authors are drawn from across the world and from both academia and beyond. The writers contribute from diverse professional backgrounds including psychology, counselling, social work and neuropsychiatry. All have established credentials in their own fields and the cross-disciplinary area this area represents. The book is intended for health professionals involved in helping to facilitate return to work for their patients after mental health difficulties. There is a good introduction identifying the title's range of chosen topics from a chapter on motivational interviewing through to the challenges of employment in early psychosis. The topics are all very relevant although are written by different authors meaning that the book reads as a collection of linked papers. The book is well written although presented in academic terms rather than the practical and pragmatic approach some readers may wish. It is excellently referenced.
