Abstract
An analysis of the spectral energy distributions of distan galaxies yields a new upper limit on the possible mass in dust particles with sizes less than the wavelength of visible light. The total extinction of the light from galaxies is less than 2.5 x l0- mag Mpc-1. The method is reasonably independent of q0 and of evolution and may show promise for future investigations. Subject headiiigs: cosmology intergalactic medium
