Abstract

The hardware and software realization of a network video monitoring system was presented. A S3C2410 processor was used as the core of the embedded video server. The embedded video capturing software was developed according to V4L(video for linux) specification. The real time JPEG video stream was then transmitted from the server to the remote PC client through a socket connection. The system showed the advantage of high reliability and good real time performance.
