"New" Economic Development

This article focuses on changes in the social, economic, and political structure of the United States and the implications of those changes for economic development over the next decade. It suggests the primary focus for economic development will be at the local level and successful communities will develop partnerships between the public and private sectors to accomplish locally determined community objectives.
