Abstract
The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation of the fresh leaves, stem bark and panicle of Cinnamomum bejolghota (Buch.-Ham.) Sweet, growing wild in Northeast India were investigated by GC and GC/MS. Twenty-seven components were identified in the leaf oil and panicle oil, and eighteen components in the stem bark oil, representing 92.8%, 87.7% and6l.0% of their total oils, respectively. Linalool was the major component in leaf oil (57.4%) and panicle oil (62.8%), whereas the stem bark oil contained α-terpineol (18.2%) and (E)-nerolidol (15.3%) as main components.
