Abstract
We examine the Diffusive Shock Acceleration (DSA) mechanism in large SEP events. We first discuss the observational constraints of the underlying particle acceleration mechanism in GLE events. We then briefly review the standard DSA mechanism and follow that by a discussion of the injection efficiency as well as an estimate of the maximum particle energy at an oblique shock.
