New environmental regulations stipulate that the amount of residual waste to be landfilled must be reduced. Thus, a large portion of the waste that could be previously dumped directly now has to be incinerated. The authors present incineration with oxygen-enriched air to improve both incineration with the associated pollution release and the operating characteristics of the incinerator.
