We propose a new wide-viewing-angle polarizer that has extremely low light leakage in all directions and a large wavelength range. In this paper we discuss the design procedure for this wide-viewing-angle polarizer and its properties, in the interests of achieving high-quality liquid crystal displays (LCDs) with a wide viewing angle and high contrast ratio.
