Family Life Education for the Later Years

T'he older population has increased in proportion and numbers within the United States, and family life educators have been developing programs for these individuals. Family life education programs have addressed several issues for later life family members, including marriage, sexualUty, retirement and family life, widowhood, intergenerational relations, and caregiving. For each of these issues, research is briefly reviewed, educational programs are discussed, and issues for the future are noted. Seven guidelinesfor the development offamily life education programsfor the lateryears arepresented.
