Abstract

Abstract Empirical and theoretical models of the photosphere and low chromosphere are reviewed with especial reference to the Bilderberg continuum atmosphere. The observations and analysis of the continuous spectrum are emphasized. A minimum electron temperature of f 4300 K at lgr0 « — 4 i is suggested by new observations in the ultraviolet and far infrared.
