Lobsters form an important fishery \nall along the coastline of India. The \nlobster resource potential of Indian \nEEZ is 50,000 mt (Vijayakumaran and \nRadhakrishnan, 2000). Against this, \nlobster production of India in the year \n20.00 was 2,387 t, consisting of spiny \nlobsters, sand lobsters, and deep-sea \nlobsters. While lobster fishery occurs \nround the year along the Indian coast \nand its island territories , th ere are \npeak seasons depending on the \nhydrographic conditions and natural \nfishery dist ribution of the regions \nconcerned.
