A Traffic Capacity Improvement Example of Urban Road Intersection

The study on the program of road intersection improvements is important for intersections are the bottleneck of urban traffic. Wengang Road - Jianjun Road crossing is an important intersection in Yancheng. Among them, Jianjun Road is an east-west main road, and there is a large number of motor vehicle traffic on it. Wengang Road is a north-south trunk road, many large-scale freight trucks go through the road. Therefore, there are heavy and frequent traffic in this road intersection and traffic disorder is brought out. To address the traffic problem on this intersection, we apply single signalized intersection traffic signal control theory as the basis, use urban roads organization and road intersection signal timing method, to study the improvements of this intersection. we achieve two projects of improvement. With analysis and evaluate, and we choose a better one at the end.
