Abstract

Marx's Capital, the centennial of whose publication we are presently celebrating, played an extraordinary role in the destiny of bourgeois political economy. It is no accident that Marx subtitled his book A Critique of Political Economy. To vulgar apologetics for capitalism, Marx counterposed a truly scientific analysis of social patterns, and revealed their motive forces and the direction of development of society from capitalism to socialism.
