Abstract

Diltiazem, the newest calcium- channel blocker released in the United States, has been beneficial for the treatment of the patient with coronary artery disease. The authors focus on the assessment of the patient receiving the drug, safe administration and undesired effects of the drug, and recommendations which ensure maximal effects of this new drug for the patient with coronary artery disease.
