Abstract
This paper mainly aims to investigate and analyze seismic fortification standards, the actual earthquake intensity and damages of the existing bridges in the 51 hard-hit areas in Wenchuan Earthquake. Based on the investigation and studies on the relationship among highway bridge damages, building year, bridge type and seismic protection classification, the assessment of seismic fortification standards is also presented.
