Open publisher page 1 citations

Abstract

Since the introduction of the Fogarty embolectomy catheter for the removal of arterial emboli, an increase in the ease and speed of embolectomy has occurred, but the mortality and morbidity associated with arterial embolism of the lower limbs has not altered appreciably. This conclusion results from a study of treatment of arterial emboli in vessels of the lower limbs between 1960 and 1968 at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
