Abstract
This paper reports on the development of a critical approach to pedagogy in a sociology course set in a vocational program. A project using the medium of drama is the focus of the approach. Its effectiveness is examined in terms of the opportunities provided for students to relate common-sense understandings to sociological concepts, and for students' political development in a collaborative group situation.
