Abstract

Summary The Florentine collections of O. Beccari contain a number of specimens that have been neglected in most recent taxonomic treatments on the genus Nepenthes although they constitute original material. Lectotypification of the names of several taxa described by O. Beccari, J. M. Macfarlane, and J. D. Hooker based on material in the Herbarium Beccarianum is effected here, with comments on the definition of some taxa. The taxa concerned in this article are Nepenthes ampullaria var. geelvinkiana Becc., N. ampullaria var. longicarpa Becc., N. echinostoma Hook, f., N. phyllamphora var. macrantha Hook, f., N. melamphora var. tomentella Becc., N. rafflesiana var. minor Becc., N. tentaculata var. imberbis Becc., N. singalana Becc., and N. beccariana Macf.
