Abstract

China is one of the largest countries of sugar production and consumption. In order to explore the effective approaches for sugarcane mechanization, this article introduces the demonstration effect of sugarcane mechanization production in Binyang, Guangxi Province in China. By operating process such as land preparation, plantation, intertillage, fertilization, irrigation and growth managements, key technologies and equipments for the sugarcane mechanization production were investigated and demonstrated. It was observed that the sugarcanes in the demonstration area, which were planted with modern agriculture techniques and mechanization procedures, grew obviously better, and its output gained more than 35% production of the traditional plantation areas. In addition, these modern production techniques could reduce manpower and costs of the sugarcane production, and improve the production efficiency.
