Abstract
Zincian helvite with composition Mn1.49Zn1.39Fe1.10Be2.96Al0.04Si3.00S1.00O12 on the average occurs sparingly in a granitic pegmatite in the limestone quarry of Stora Vika, Nynäshamn, associated with inter alia topaz, beryl, fluorite, xenotime, sphalerite, and rarely, bityite. The high Zn content of helvite indicates a low to moderate sulfur activity level in the mineral-forming fluid.
