Abstract

Blaberpolipus cavernicola n. gen., n. sp. (Acari: Podapolipidae) is described from Blaberus parabolicus (Walker) (Blattodea: Blaberidae) collected from a cave near Tingo Maria, Peru, and from Eublaberus distanti (Kirby) (Blattodea: Blaberidae) collected 25 kilometers East of Iquitos, Peru. It is described and compared with related species from cockroaches. A key to species of Podapolipidae from Blattodea is provided.
