Abstract
ITS is composed of many subsystems. In the data collection process, it will inevitably results in inconsistent data. The XML language had several advantages, such as good data storage form, the possibility of extension, the reliable structure and the advantageous for network transmission. The paper proposed to use XML to realize various subsystems data sharing and interactivity of transportation data resources in ITS. It analyzed the deficiency of the current data exchange technology and discussed the application of XML in ITS, finally explained a data exchange method with an example. The result shows that, XML technology can read the database in ITS and distribute on the web which had a good application prospect in ITS.
