Application research of disruptive innovation in product lifecycle

This paper compared the differences and the relationship between sustains innovation and disruptive innovation and expounded the role and the limitations of sustains innovation to extend the product lifecycle. Then this paper analyzed the advantages and the functions of disruptive innovation to extend the product lifecycle. The results show that sustains innovation can extend the product lifecycle within a certain range, but can't change the trend of product to be eliminated. Through use disruptive innovation and sustains innovation alternately and adjust the innovation direction continuously, the product lifecycle should be extended unlimitedly.
