Abstract

Widening use of expanded asphalt (also known as foamed asphalt) is giving contractors and agencies more experience with its application. Best candidates are flat, cracked, potholed, rutted, flushed, heaved pavements and ones that need widening or strengthened base. It's also good for restoring original profiles. The article describes techniques being developed on job sites.
