Chemical Composition of the Essential Oil ofSalvia limbataC. A. Mey.

Abstract

The composition of the essential oil obtained from the dried flowering aerial parts of Salvia limbata C. A. Mey. (Lamiaceae) was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. 111 components have been identified in the essential oil of S. limbata. The major compounds of the essential oil were caryophyllene oxide (11.5 %), terpinen-4-ol (8.9 %), sabinene (8.3 %) and spathulenol (8.1 %).
