NEEM (AZADIRACHTA INDICA, JUSS.) AS A SOURCE OF CATTLE FEED

Abstract

SUMMARY The leaves of the multi-purpose tree Azadirachta indica (neem) are widely used as a dry season fodder in India and other parts of Asia. This paper reports on the chemical composition of neem leaves and reviews the results of feeding trials. Neem seed cake has not proved successful as a feed and its use is not recommended until further work on detoxification and processing has been completed.
