Abstract
This paper proposes the architecture and procedure for interworking scenarios between classical IP over ATM and LAN emulation (IPOA/LANE) network and ATM-based MPLS network. We propose the ATM label edge router (ATM-LER) system both for layer 2 and layer 3 interworking scenarios. We suggest the label switched path (LSP) setup procedure and the packet transmission procedure between the ATM-based multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network and the classical IPOA/LANE network.
