Abstract
A line diagram shows the layout of the Fateh field facilities from which 250,000 bopd flows from the well to the tanker. When the high volume, offshore production, processing, and loading facility at Dubai Petroleum Co.'s Fateh oil field, located 60 miles off the coast of the Trucial States of Dubai, moved into stepped-up Phase II operation this March, it became the world's largest self-contained offshore production complex. The total expansion program represents an extensive engineering, construction, scheduling, and installation effort. A large-scale pressure maintenance program is in the design stage. A water injection system will be installed to inject treated seawater into the reservoirs at a rate of 400,000 bpd at 2,500 psi. A gas-lift system is being installed to process 100 MMcfd gas at 1,500 psi discharge. The storage system utilizes a 500,000 bbl underwater storage tank which, with 2 moored storage tankers, furnishes storage capacity. The tanks form the basic support for platforms.
