Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of glial cell-lined derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF)on cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)expression after focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. Methods The rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MACO)was established by intraluminal suture method.GDNF was injected into the lateral ventricle under stereo localization. The expression of COX-2 in the hippocampus was detected in model group, control group, and GDNF group. Results The expression of COX-2 was significantly lower in GDNF group than in model group and control group(P 0.05).Conclusion GDNF may protect brain tissue from ischemic injury by decreasing of the expression of COX-2.
