Abstract

The growth of aviation industry is continuously expanding. Aircraft maintenance is taking an important role to assure the flight's safety. The aircraft engine maintenance is a very complex task which requires specialists to perform the maintenance exertion. The major constraints of maintenance are time limiting, operating cost and other factors that affect the maintenance operation. The implementation of improving maintenance programs can benefit airlines in terms of lowering the maintenance downtime and operating costs. This can be done by defining the current problems as well as managing workflow of the engine maintenance operation. It is important for airlines to implement maintenance management planning strategies to control and distribute equal workload. This paper aims to provide an overview of developing an engine maintenance system by using soft system methodology (SSM) to manage efficient workflow of manpower for large engine maintenance airlines which can be helpful in increasing work performance efficiency.
