Abstract

The Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA) has made it very attractive for a plant with implant generation to sell excess power to the local utility company. The authors tell how the control system on the existing cogeneration facility in a Louisiana-Pacific plant was updated with modern controls to take full advantage of the economic benefits made possible by PURPA.
