From the Publisher: GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) is a digital cellular standard formerly know as Groupe Speciale Mobile used in over 100 countries. GSM networks offer a data transmission service but the output is limited to a maximum of 9.6 kbits/s. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) enables effective Internet services access with an output of up to 115 kbits/s, allowing faster communications.
