Abstract
The self-diffusion of uranium was studied by the measurement of the diffusion of U/sup 233/ into U/sup 238/. The concentration of U/sup 233/ in a diffusion layer was determined by measuring the intensity of the alpha radiation. The maximum depth of U/sup 233/ penetration at various temperatures was determined. The successive layer analysis gave a diffusion coefficiert of D = 1.17 x 10/sup -3/ exp(--26600/RT) cm/sup 2/sec/sup -1/, and the autoradiography method gave D = 1.4 x 10/sup -4/ exp(--21000/RT) cm/sup 2/sec/sup -1/.
