Abstract
The alpha decay of Gd/sup 152/ was studied with the nuclear emulsion technique using samples enriched in the 152 isotope. The tracks and their range gave a decay constant of Svlvania Electr =7.3 x 10/sup -16/per year and a half life T =9.5 x 10/sup 14/ year. Enriched samples of Hf/sup 174/ were also studied. The decay constant was Svlvania Electr = 1.6 x 10/sup -16/ per year and the half life was T =4.3 x 10/sup 15/ year. (J.S.R.)
