Abstract

Electricity, gas and water industries are subject to deregulation and increased competition worldwide. Regardless of the commodity, governments and industries tend to be following the same steps and policies to establish markets and retail competition in these industries. This presentation uses the Australian electricity industry as an example of the deregulation timetable and process and how interim markets evolve into fully competitive markets.
