Abstract

Abstract Polarographic studies of uranyl perchlorate in the presence of an excess of sulfosalicylate have given an information for the complex formation of the 1: 1 uranyl sulfosalicylate at pH 4.68, corresponding to the reaction: U[VI]: sulfosalicylate + H+ + e → U[V]: sulfosalicylate Above pH 4.9, however, the polarographic wave splitted into two reduction waves which may be attributed to the dissociation of the complex, and the reduction of U[VI] to U[V] and U[V] to U[VI].
