In such an anemia the color index usually is one or higher. It is generally considered to be due to defective blood formation and is frequently controlled by anti-pernicious anemia medication but is not ordinarily benefited by iron therapy.An anemia of this type is characteristically found in true Addisonian pernicious anemia, in the so-called "tropical anemia"...Bibliography1.
