No abstract. Summary: Electric guiding, with the advantage of minimal equipment in the water to interfere with the passage of debris, is most successful in low water velocities. Conversely, louvers are effective at higher velocities, but the need for rather closely spaced elements adds to the debris problems and total cost. The objective of the authors was to determine if the guiding efficiency of a louver system with widely spaced slats would be materially increased by applying electrical energy so that the slats would also function as electrodes.
