Abstract
The biological effect of x ray single whole-body exposure on the metabolism of nucleic acid in the spleen of mice of the C/sub 3/H strain was larger than that of the same metabolism in mice irradiated by Co/sup 60/ gamma rays of the same dose with the same dose rate. No difference was detected, however, in the nucleic acid metabolism in the thymus and testis. When x rays were given with fractionated irradiation to the whole-body, the effect was generally greater than that of Co/sup 60/ gamma rays. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 5, May 1962).
